This handbook serves two purposes: It outlines the philosophy and goals behind our program, and it offers guidelines and concrete suggestions for integrating Writing Fellows effectively into your course.

The guidelines for planning the semester and working with Fellows are based on our investigations of successful Writing Fellows programs at other campuses, as well as our experience working with professors at UW-Madison. These guidelines are designed to enable everyone involved to get the most out of the program: you, your Writing Fellows, and, most importantly, your students.
