Samples of Instruction via
Email
The University of Wisconsin-Madison
Online Writing Center instructors give feedback through two different types
of email instruction.
- Writing
Consultant Questions
For those nagging questions about citations, punctuation, grammar,
and style (Am I saying this correctly?), the Writing Consultant
is here to offer some useful advice. You dont have to be a UW-Madison
student to get our help through the Writing Consultant. Sample
1 is a question about grammar; Sample 2
is a question about business-letter form.
- Email
Instruction on Drafts
For registered
UW-Madison students only, pleaseright now we only receive funding to
work with the university population. If youre new to writing at the
university level, or if you have a lot of concerns about grammar and punctuation,
youd be better served by making an
appointment at the regular (in-person) Writing Center. Sentence-level
issues are particularly hard to teach over email. Sample
1 is an introductory-level literature paper; Sample
2 is a medical residency essay.
