Simple Steps for Perfecting Your Punctuation
2 hours

Intended Audience

Anyone who wants a comprehensive review of the basic rules of punctuation, and especially anyone who has ever wondered, “Why is there so much confusion about what’s right or wrong in punctuation?”

Overview

Here’s your chance to review the basics of punctuation in a friendly and non-threatening environment. Unlike those confusing approaches to punctuation that list punctuation marks in alphabetical order, “Simple Steps” takes a logical and systematic approach that you’ll be able to remember and use long after the class is over.

First we’ll look at four “situations” in which we use punctuation; then we’ll consider the “rules” for punctuation in those situations, along with the allowable “variations” on those rules. Participants often report that they leave this class and start using correct punctuation almost immediately.
