The
main location of the Writing Center is in room 6171 Helen C. White
Hall, 600 North Park Street. Here is where our individual instruction
takes place as well as almost all of our short, non-credit writing classes. We see students by appointment at this
location, and
we're often booked up several days in advance, so please plan ahead!
We do receive cancellations, though, so please feel free to call
to see what's available.
We are directly across the street from the Memorial
Union and from Science Hall, on Lake Mendota. Take the stairs or
elevators located to the left of the entrance to College Library.
Upon reaching the sixth floor, turn left (from the stairs) or right
(from the elevator), and then right down the corridor. The Writing
Center is the first door on the left.

of operation by calling 263-1992.

Thanks to generous funding from Memorial Library, Writing Center tutors will be in the West Corridor of Memorial Library on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, 7-10 p.m. Writing help is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hours
The writing tutor is in a booth in Lower Frank's of Holt Commons.
From the main desk, go down the steps and around the corner to your left.
From the ice cream counter, go to the far end of the room on the right. Look for
the Writing Center sign.

The writing tutor is in the room just across from the ARCH. Go in the front entrance, take the
stairs to the left, walk forward fifteen paces, and you're
there! |
Pop's Club in Gordon Commons
Feb 3 - May 8
Hours
The writing tutor at Pop's can be found at a table in the
aisleway between Pop's Cafe and Ed's Late Night Express. After
entering Pop's, turn right and you'll see the aisleway next
to the condiment bar. Look for a big easel with sign-ups on
it. |
Chadbourne
Residential College

The writing tutor is located in the Chadbourne Coffee House, along the windows on
the University Avenue side of the cafeteria. Look for the round table with the Writing

Multicultural Student Center

The
Writing Center is pleased to offer drop-in writing instruction
at the Multicultural Student Center, on the second floor of
the Old Red Gym, 716 Langdon Street.

Hours
The writing tutor sets up in the lounge of the MSC. Head in
the main entrance, make a right, and go up the stairs to the
second floor. The MSC will be the first set of doors on your
right. Walk straight past the reception desk and make a right. |

Housing Satellite (Gordon Commons)

We are continuing to offer service
at the MSC Housing Satellite in Gordon Commons.

The MSC Satellite is located on Lake Street, below Gordon
Commons. Enter from the street, at about the middle of the
block. Look for the writing tutor inside the MSC, at a table
with the Writing Center sign. |

Public Libraries

Writing
assistance at this location is intended for community members
who are not enrolled at or affiliated with UW-Madison. Students
at the University are encouraged to use our numerous campus
locations and our Online Writing Center.
Community Writing Assistance is at South Madison Public Library at
2222 South Park Street.
