About WiSSP

In Depth
We are trying out a different format for this issue’s "In Depth" segment. Usually, a specific topic related to stillbirth has been reviewed. This time, however, we chose to present several case studies of specific referrals to the Wisconsin Stillbirth Service Program, followed by a — hopefully — enlightening comment.

The cases were chosen because they illustrate an important concept or are instructive in some way. We would appreciate your comments. If responses are positive, we will present the "In Depth" section in this format periodically.

As always we can be reached at telephone number (608) 262-9722, e-mail at reiser2@waisman.wisc.edu, or FAX at (608) 263-3496.

Minnesota meeting
Dr. Pauli recently visited with Dr. David Tilstra and the staff at the Family Birthing Center, St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He presented an overview of WiSSP and our efforts in Wisconsin. We hope that in a few years Dr. Tilstra will be able to write a "Guest Corner" concerning the vicissitudes and victories of establishing an independent stillbirth assessment program.

One of our aspirations is to educate others beyond the borders of our state as to the appropriateness and benefits of stillbirth evaluation. The "export" of the program to other sites with modification of organization as necessary, would be the long term goal.
