about WiSSP

1995 at a Glance
If the first quarter of 1995 is any indication, the
rest of the year should be very busy. WiSSP prepared a
poster that was displayed during the annual meeting of
the Great Lakes Regional Genetics Group this March. We
also had an accepted abstract at the recent WAPC meetings
held in Madison, where it was nice to see many of you and
finally put a face to a name and a voice. In June we will
be attending the Wisconsin Public Health meetings during
the poster session, and are tentatively planning on being
an exhibitor at the International Bereavement Conference
sponsored by RTS Bereavement Services in October. (Since
this latter meeting is in Chicago, it may be possible for
some of you to attend; for more information contact RTS
Bereavement Services directly, at 1-800-362-9567, ext.
4747, or 608-791-4747.) And finally, we have space
reserved in the resource center at the national meetings
of the National Society of Genetic Counselors, also in
October, to display our videotapes and other written
materials.

Wisconsin Stillbirth Service Program Advisory
Committee (WiSSPAC)
The WiSSPAC is planning to convene on June 15, 1995.
The Committee, which meets biannually, comprises the
WiSSP staff and representatives of local collaborating
hospitals, the Wisconsin Association of Perinatal Care,
and the Division of Health, State of Wisconsin (Maternal
& Child Health (MCH) Branch). Together we discuss
where WiSSP is or should be headed, needed changes in our
structure or approach and other issues of relevance to
our mission. For example, the idea which led to the
production of our recent five-part educational videotape
series came out of the last WiSSPAC meeting.
If there are ideas or issues you would like us to
address at the upcoming meeting, let me know, and they
will be added to the agenda.
