Interpretive Studies in Healthcare and the Human Sciences
Editors are Nancy L. Diekelmann, series editor and Pamela Ironside, series assistant editor.

Aimed at both scholars in the human sciences and health care practitioners, this series examines current issues in the practice of healthcare, both in the United States and internationally. The series encourages interpretive, theoretical approaches to these issues, specifically interpretive phenomenology, critical social theory, and feminist and postmodern discourses.

Nancy L. Diekelmann is the Helen Denne Schulte Professor of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. She is the past president of the Society for Research in Nursing Education. The first chair of the University of Wisconsin–Madison Teaching Academy, she received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1997. The author and editor of more than seven books on health care and nursing education, she has twice been honored with Book of the Year awards by the American Journal of Nursing.
