Conducting Research/Projects at UW Campus Centers
If you are interested in recruiting children/families, conducting a course project involving contact with children, or conducting research in the SoHE-affiliated child care centers (Linden and Bethany sites), you will need to get permission from SoHE’s Preschool Lab Research Liaison, HDFS Professor David Riley. Professor Riley will review all protocols and then, following consultation with the center directors, he will decide if you can proceed.
For Research
Please submit the following via e-mail attachment or hard copy to David Riley (e-mail: dariley@wisc.edu or mail to campus address: 1430 Linden Drive, Room 101a, Madison, WI 53706):
For all research protocols:
- UW IRB approval notice.
- Copy of approved consent form (stamped, if applicable).
- Abstract of the study (so we can post it on our Web site for parents).
- Description of recruitment procedures.
For research protocols involving direct contact with children in the centers:
- In addition to the above information, a description of procedures used with the children.
- A background check form for each person who has direct contact with the children. Click here to download a background check form.
- A check for $7 per form payable to SoHE (or if you have a 144 account and you would like us to bill your grant, please contact Linda Dicks lsdicks@wisc.edu ).
