Campus Women's Center

The Campus Women's Center, a student organization, has a child care coordinator who works with student parents around child care needs.

The Campus Women's Center coordinates the following child care support services for student families.

• KIDSTIME-A volunteer child care program that matches student volunteers with student families with children. The volunteer provides an average of three hours per week of FREE child care services as mutually arranged between the volunteer and the student parent family. The program was initiated in 1993 and serves 20-30 families each year. Student volunteers are interviewed, have background checks and reference checks as part of the screening and matching process.

• KIDS NIGHT OUT, a coordinated evening program that is scheduled approximately one Friday night per month to serve student parents who live in Eagle Heights or University Houses. Student volunteers organize these FREE childcare activities at the University Apartments Community Center (Eagle Heights). For dates and/or information about KIDS NIGHT OUT activities, contact the Campus Women's Center.

• BABY-SITTER LIST- The Campus Women's Center maintains a list of student with an expressed interest in baby-sitting. Baby-sitters who are maintained on this list are included only by virtue of their interest and are not screened by the Campus Women's Center. Parents should meet students, ask questions and obtain references, as they normally would in hiring for child care.
