Family Child Care Training & Support

What is Family Child Care?

Family child care providers care for small groups of children in their own homes. There is a great need on campus for child care providers, especially for those who care for infants and toddlers. Flexible, part-time care is often needed by student families. See brochures of current Family Child Care providers.

What is the Family Child Care Training Program?

The Family Child Care Training Program is designed to support and train those who are interested in providing high quality in-home care, especially for student families.

There is no cost for the sessions. Child Care Professionals will assist you in setting up your home, securing needed equipment and answering questions about how to become a regulated provider. Often, student families themselves wish to participate in this program. We welcome your inquiry!

In addition, individuals who become regulated providers and serve student families may be eligible for a cash bonus.

How can I register?

Contact Annette Kornell at (608) 270-3441 to reserve your spot or to ask further questions.

Do I need a work permit?

A work permit and/or social security number are not required to attend the training sessions, but are required to receive payments from the Child Care Tuition Assistance Program utilized by student parents.
