Child Care Support Network

What is it?

The Child Care Support Network is a listing of families interested in connecting with other families for the purpose of sharing child-care in their homes or cooperatively sharing child care responsibilities.

The Office of Child Care & Family Resources (OCCFR) acts as a clearinghouse for those who wish to participate in this program. The families have sole responsibility for locating, organizing care and/or dismissing any caregivers.

How is this different from the paid baby-sitters list?

The paid baby-sitters list is a list of UW-Madison students who are interested in being paid to watch your child(ren). The Child Care Support Network is a list of UW-Madison affiliated families who wish to exchange child care services with other UW-Madison affiliated families.

Who may use it?

Anyone affiliated with the University of Wisconsin Madison (faculty, staff and students) may use the list.

Join the Network!

If you are interested in being a part of the network, please e-mail the following information to Jen Dittrich. By doing this you are allowing the OCCFR to share your information with other UW-Madison affiliated families in search of a shared child care situation.

• Phone number
• UW-Madison Dept. (staff/faculty/student)
• Child care needs
• Number and ages of children
• Days/times child care is needed (ex: evenings, weekends, occasional days etc.)

Upon request, you will receive an updated list of those families who are currently interested in exploring a shared child-care arrangement. You may choose to remove your name from the list at any time by notifying the OCCFR.

By adding your name to this list you are stating your willingness for the OCCFR to give out your name, location and phone number to other UW-Madison affiliated families interested in sharing child care. Furthermore, you understand that the OCCFR is acting as the clearinghouse only and does not assume any liability for this service. It will be the parent’s responsibility to set up care arrangements and monitor the quality of care.
