The Classified Staff Child Care GrantThe Classified Staff Child Care Grant was developed in August 2003 for permanent employees of the UW-Madison. The high cost of child care can make it difficult for employees to balance their dual roles as employees and parents. As a way of acknowledging the valuable contributions of our classified staff, this program assists in making high quality child care more accessible. This benefits the child, the employee and the employer. The program is administered by the Office of Child Care and Family Resources which provides annual awards. Grants are privately funded (through an account at the UW Foundation), thus all awards are dependent on funds availability. Recipients must use regulated child care in the State of Wisconsin. Payment is made directly to the child care provider. In December 2007, $2,000 in awards were granted to 5 families.
