Enrollment Information
The campus child care programs handle applications and enrollments individually. In general, campus centers operate year round with contracts for the academic year (September through May) and summer (June through August). Contracts for each fall semester are typically offered in March of the preceding year. Families who are currently enrolled receive first priority. Once the initial contract period is completed (March through April), center directors begin contacting families on the wait list.
Campus programs provide priority enrollment to faculty, staff and students prior to accepting community enrollments. Contact the site manager for site specifics.
Please note: UWITC and Great Beginnings share a wait list. The other sites maintain individual wait lists and should be contacted separately.
Bernie's Place (ages 30 months - 6 years)

Enrollment Dates:
- March of current year for priority; open enrollment for the following academic year begins in April.
- Bernie’s Place “holds” several fall openings for new student parents attending UW for the first time.
- Priority for enrollment given to full-year contracts and student parents.
Contract options:
- 9 month or 12 month (includes summer).
- Some summer contracts provided to returning students each year.
- Closed 11 holidays, worthy wage day and two scheduled work days.
Notice for Withdrawal:
30 days prior notice to director.
Use of CCTAP:
Parents pay up front, and then CCTAP applied when received unless other agreement is pre-arranged with the director.
Late Charges: No.
Pay Schedule: 2, 4 or 6 week payment schedule.
Enrollment Registration Fee: $75 initial, $50 annual.
Application/Wait List Fee: None.
Eagle's Wing (ages 18 months - 12 years)

Enrollment Dates: Open enrollment based on availability; priority to University Apartments residents.
Contract Options:
- Contract per semester and summer sessions.
- Priority for enrollment provided to University Apartments residents and current families served.
Notice for Withdrawal: 30 day, only if terminated from university and moving out of Madison.
Use of CCTAP: Pro-rated throughout the semester; parent pays weekly co-pay amount based on child’s schedule for care.
Late Charges: Late payment charge of $10.00.
Late Pick Up Fee: $10.00 charge for each 15 minutes.
Pay Schedule: Every 2 weeks.
Enrollment Registration Fee: $15 registration fee per semester; (preschool and school age) $25 activity fee/semester (school age).
Deposit: 1 week tuition applied to last week of care.

Great Beginnings (ages 6 weeks - 3 years)

Enrollment Dates: Open enrollment based on availability.
Contract Options:
- Operates on a 52 week annual contract for services.
- Center is closed for major holidays and 4 staff training days per year.
- Schedule changes are allowed if director approves and space is available.
Notice for Withdrawal: Two weeks prior notice to director.
Use of CCTAP: Parents pay up front, then CCTAP applied to balance due.
Late Charges: Late pick up $10 for every 15 minutes; returned check fee = $25.
Pay Schedule: Payments due on Monday of each week.
Enrollment Registration Fee: None.
Deposit: None.

Little Chicks Learning Academy (ages 6 weeks - 30 months)

Enrollment Dates: March 1st of current year for priority enrollment and current families and siblings; open enrollment follows beginning March 15th.
Contract Options:
- Operates on a 52 week annual contract for services.
- Priority enrollment is given to faculty, students and staff at the UW Department of Medicine and Public Health. A reduced rate is offered to Medical students.
- The center operates from 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday offering full time (M-F) and part time (MWF or TR) enrollment options.
- Open during Spring Break.
Notice for Withdrawal:
- Under discretion of administrative staff: with documentation of hardship, 30 day notice to Director.
- Find replacement or buy out contract.
Use of CCTAP: Parents pay up front, then CCTAP applied to balance due.
Late Charges: $30 after the 15th of the month.
Pay Schedule: Payments due by the first Monday of the month.

Deposit: One week tuition to be held for payment of last week of contract.

UW Infant/Toddler Center (ages 6 weeks - 30 months)

Contract Options:
- Operates on a 50 week annual contract for services.
- Center is closed: one week after Christmas and the week of UW Spring Break.
- Schedule change: allowed if director approved and space is available; no fee for change.

Use of CCTAP: Parents pay up front, then CCTAP applied to balance due.
Late Charges: Late pick up $10 for every 15 minutes; returned check fee = $25.

- 9 month academic year contract.
- Optional summer programs available.
- Closed for 2 weeks (winter break), 5 set-up and in-service days (4 in fall and 1 in spring), and 9 legal holidays.
Notice for Withdrawal: 30 day prior notice to director.
Summer Holding Fee: The holding fee is 10% of the fall weekly rate for every week not enrolled. It is non-refundable and not deducted from tuition.
Use of CCTAP: CCTAP may be used as payment/partial payment; Preschool Lab will wait for payment from CCTAP.
Late Charges: 5% of unpaid balance after 21st day.
Late Pick Up Fee: $20 for every 15 minute increment past their scheduled pick up time.
Pay Schedule: Monthly.
Enrollment Contract Fee: A $25 non-refundable contract processing fee is due with each signed contract submitted.
Deposit: The first month in advance serves as your deposit. It is applied to the first payment due at the start of the contract period.
Application/Wait List Fee: A non-refundable application fee of $25 is charged for each child, due when the application form is submitted. Application Form
University Houses Preschool (ages 30 months - 6 years)

Contract Options:
- 9 month academic year contract with 1 month summer contract.
- Priority enrollment to University Apartments residents, open to all (greater Madison area).
Notice for Withdrawal: 30 days prior notice to director, unless family finds replacement.
Use of CCTAP: CCTAP award used at beginning toward total annual cost; balance is broken into monthly payments.
Late Charges: $10 for late payment.
Pay Schedule: Monthly (4 payments per semester).
Enrollment Registration Fee: $45.
Deposit: None.
Application/Wait List Fee: None.
Waisman Early Childhood Program (ages 12 months - 6 years)

Enrollment Dates: Re-enrollment for summer/academic year in January; new enrollment February until completed.
Contract Options:
- 10.5 month contract for fall to the end of spring semester.
- 2 month contract for summer; summer contract can be different from fall.
- Mid-term changes allowed only if it works with the current staffing schedule.
- Priority enrollment to Waisman Center and UW faculty/staff; and children with special needs.
Notice for Withdrawal: 30 days prior notice to director to withdraw without penalty (for first time enrollments), or replacement for the year or pay out contract.
Use of CCTAP: Parents pay up front and then CCTAP applied to balance.
Late Charges: $30 fee if after 15th of the month.
Pay Schedule: Monthly.
Enrollment Registration Fee: None.
Deposit: $350, applied to 1st month tuition; non-refundable.
Application/Wait List Fee: $35, non-refundable.
