Who can apply for CCTAP?

All students enrolled at UW-Madison who pay segregated fees and are:

  • Enrolled in a minimum of three academic credits required for degree completion.
  • Full or part-time students
  • Parents of children ages birth to 12 years and using full or part time licensed/regulated child care in the state of Wisconsin.

NOTE: For situations when both parents are students at UW-Madison, only one parent may apply for CCTAP funds on behalf of the child.

Eligibility determination :

CCTAP is a need-based award, therefore, students with the highest need receive priority in awards. CCTAP funds are limited; funding is provided to eligible students on a first come first served basis as long as funds are available.

All who apply may not be eligible or served, depending on the CCTAP budget and the student’s resources.

Award eligibility is determined on:

  • Total family resources from the prior year;(both taxable and non-taxable)
  • Family assets;
  • Academic credits and student status;
  • All other income resources and benefits; (i.e., family financial and care-giving support, tuition remission, scholarships, government assistance, grants, social security benefits, military benefits)
  • Eligibility for other forms of child care assistance such as Title XX through Dane County Human Services and City of Madison.
  • The child must be enrolled in regulated care in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Family child care providers must have a social security number and/or work permit to be eligible to receive CCTAP funds.

Appeals

The goal of CCTAP is to provide financial assistance to students with the biggest need toward child care costs, as long as funds are available. If your child care costs exceed this benchmark; or you have a special need that should be considered, you may appeal the award. Appeals must be forwarded to the CCTAP Administrator for review by the CCTAP Advisory Board. Students seeking an appeal should complete the appeal form and forward it to Joyce Jennings Currier at 611 Eagle Heights, Room 148, Madison, WI 53705.

Appeals are not guaranteed; student parents will be notified of the advisory board decision by email.
