UW-Madison: Office of Trademark Licensing

Code of Conduct

Licensed collegiate products are among the most socially responsible items anyone can buy. UW licensed manufacturers are contractually obliged to conform to the university's Code of Conduct. This Code and its enforcement were implemented to ensure that manufacturers of UW emblematic products promote business and manufacturing practices designed to prevent the possibility that UW emblematic products are produced under sweatshop conditions.

To advise the university on the issue of sweatshops around the world and to assist in the monitoring, and enforcement of its Code of Conduct, the University of Wisconsin is a member of the Workers Rights Consortium (WRC).

The WRC web site includes a factory database providing factory disclosure information for the University of Wisconsin and other WRC members.
