The Speakers Bureau is comprised of individuals of all ages, backgrounds and orientations who are interested in breaking down the barriers of homophobia and heterosexism through education and personal conversation. Speakers choose to join the LGBT Speakers Bureau for a variety of reasons: social connections, to find community, a drive to educate others on LGBT issues, for the chance to work with a variety of on and off-campus groups, or for the empower experience of speaking about their own experiences. After a short one-on-one training session with the Educational Outreach Specialist at the LGBT Campus Center, speakers are put on an email listserve which informs them of future speaking opportunities, and volunteer to speak when it fits their schedule and interests.
Not sure if you want to become a speaker? Send us an email for more information or stop by the LGBT Campus Center.
Thank you. We'll contact you within a few days.
