About the Entry Headings

The Catalog is organized alphabetically by department/program. At the beginning of each entry is a "snapshot" of information about that department/program including the name of the college or school affiliation, degrees offered, and major areas of study.

Most departments/programs included in the Catalog offer graduate degrees in specific majors. Those that do not offer graduate degrees may offer a course of study, a certificate, a Ph.D. minor, or a combination of any of these.

A department/program may offer only one major, or it may offer many majors. To locate a specific major, please refer to the Majors and Degrees list in the Graduate School section of the Catalog.

Also, within some majors there are tracks, or degree options. These may or may not be mentioned in the heading; contact the department for more information.
