Examinations, Time Constraints Yes, No Candidates must successfully complete an oral examination before a department examining committee. The candidate may defend a master's thesis or an independent study project report. |
Examinations, Time Constraints Yes, Yes The preliminary examination written report must be completed by February 15 of the second year of residence in the graduate program, and the oral portion by the end of the same semester. To qualify for the Ph.D. program, a student's GPA in four core courses and grade on the preliminary examination must meet a minimum standard. |
