All 12 credits must be graduate-level courses numbered 500 and above, taken in the department at UW-Madison (excluding 690, 699, 990, and 999). This minimum must be satisfied before a student applies to take the preliminary examination. Also required: at least 3 credits of graduate course work in methodology at UW-Madison. |
