  • Art education students must complete a minimum of 30 credits: 12 credits from among 941, 942, 951, and 900; 9 to 12 art studio credits; 3 credits in art history, philosophy, anthropology, or other courses outside the department; 6 to 9 elective credits.
  • Art students must complete a minimum of 32 credits: at least 17 credits in studio art; 6 credits in departmental seminars; 6 credits in art history (300 level or above); 3 credits in nonstudio academics taken outside the art and art history departments (300 level or above).

A final examination is required; candidates who fail to take the final examination within three years of passing the comprehensive examination for admission must pass another comprehensive examination before taking the final.
