Early English Books Online
Although anyone may access this site at http://eebo.chadwyck.com/home, membership is required. For users at the University of Wisconsin, EEBO may be accessed through the UW library at the link below. This project is attempting to scan everything printed in English in the first few centuries of printing. It contains both .html and .pdf versions of most texts. EEBO is a terribly handy reference, although one should be warned that older computers may have difficulties accessing large documents efficiently. One might also miss the charm (and unexpected discoveries) of the old microfilm room, but the future is now....https://www.library.wisc.edu/ezproxy-bin/ezpatronT.cgi?url=http://wwwlib.umi.com/eebo/search/basic
The Perseus Digital Library
A vast collection of electronic texts in numerous languages and in translation. Spans a broad historical range from the most ancient up to the late Renaissance. Searchable texts with hypertext notes.http://www.perseus.org/
University of Alberta's Electronic Texts Page
A very good collection of links to online editions, many of which are of higher quality than those found on Luminarium.http://www.humanities.ualberta.ca/emls/emlsetxt.html
Luminarium
Contains poorly-edited electronic texts of the major works of major "medieval," "renaissance," and "17th Century" authors.http://www.luminarium.org/lumina.htm
Oxford English Dictionary Online
Although anyone may access this site at http://dictionary.oed.com, membership is required. The electronic, searchable version of the OED. For users at the University of Wisconsin, the OED Online may be accessed through the UW library at the link below. Like EEBO, this is truly one of the finest electronic tools available to early modern scholars. Gone are the days of squinting through the encyclopedic OED -- its dusty pages may be missed, but the electronic search function is to be celebrated.https://www.library.wisc.edu/ezproxy-bin/ezpatronT.cgi?url=http://dictionary.oed.com/entrance.dtl
Perseus Latin/Greek/English Lexicon
A searchable Latin lexicon from the Perseus Project. Not only offers links to the definitions offered by various lexicons, but also offers frequency counters and links to instances of classical usage in Perseus electronic documents. Classicists may find it incomplete on occasion, but for students of the early modern period, this is an unbelievably rich resource.http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/cgi-bin/resolveform?lang=Latin

**Highly Recommended**An outstanding page with links to numerous useful sites on both general topics and specific authors. Rather than recapitulating their work, I will just provide a link and urge readers to make use of their many resources.http://vos.ucsb.edu/browse.asp?id=2749
