English 201 / For Instructors

Teaching with Technology

This page is a place where 201 instructors can begin to explore the possibilities for teaching writing with technology and in digital environments. If you haven't thought much about incorporating technology into your class, you might want to begin with "Why Use Technology in Your Teaching?"

"Where Can I Learn More?" leads you directly to information on classes, tutorials, and online learning materials that will help you get familiar with various programs and hardware useful for your teaching.

At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, one of the quickest way to start integrating online resources into your teaching is to use the Learn@UW course management system. An alternative open source system is also being explored by Learning Support Services (Moodling).

Specific strategies, articles, and lessons for teaching writing with technology can also be found under the corresponding section on the Resources for Teaching Writing page.
