Field of Study

The study of fundamental physiological processes involved in the responses and adaptations to exercise in mammalian systems.

Possible Careers

Biological or clinical research positions (including, but not limited to exercise physiology); positions in industry, teaching (additional certification required), and in other allied health professions (such as physical therapy, chiropractic, physician’s assistant, recreational therapy, or cardiac rehabilitation); physician; veterinarian; dentist.

  • Undergraduate scholarships, awards and student hourly appointments in research laboratories.
  • Curriculum offers flexibility for emphasizing areas of interest, such as exercise physiology and athletic training. Students may also be interested in pursuing the Athletic Training program, another option in the Kinesiology department. *Note: Students must apply for admission to the Exercise and Movement Science program. Psych 202 is required for admission. Admission to this program is limited and competitive. See section VI for application procedures and deadlines.
