Biology Advising for Undergraduates
The Biological Sciences Advising Office offers a comprehensive advising program for students who are interested in biology, but who have not declared a major. Because life sciences are taught in many different departments across campus, students often need guidance when selecting a major.
One-on-one advising sessions are available throughout the school year. The advisor helps current, transfer and prospective students to find out about the biological sciences majors on campus, to explore which majors best fit their interests and abilities, and to discuss appropriate courses and semester schedules. The office also serves as a resource center, providing information on available courses and career options as well as information on how to find internships and research opportunities. During the summer, the biological sciences advisor serves incoming freshman and transfer students who attend the SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising Registration) Program.
