The chamber is not "man rated" and therefore is not available for clinical treatments such as decompression sickness. It is in use for studies of decompression related disease and high pressure oxygen treatments with a variety of animal models. Ventilation rates can be adjusted as required to maintain appropriate partial pressures of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide scrubbers are available if work with exotic atmospheres such as heliox is desired. The chamber is served by a bank of high pressure cylinders which makes it possible to reproduce the time/pressure profiles encountered in real life dives. It is not possible to anticipate all cost variables, so all charges except for the base rate are negotiated.
