This course is part of a FIG (First-year Interest Group) and is open only to first-year students concurrently enrolled in the other two classes in the cluster, Anthropology 104 and History 119. Art History 236 is the central "synthesizing" course of the Ritual, Belief, and Religious Art FIG, and will focus on an integrated study of religious belief and practice, with particular attention paid to images and objects as both implements and visual expressions.In Anthropology 104, "Cultural Anthropology and Human Diversity", you will be introduced to cultural anthropology and the study of human ritual and belief.History 119, "The Making of Modern Europe", focuses on European history from the Renaissance to the time of Napoleon, a period of intense artistic energy and experimentation. This course fulfills the Com B Writing Requirement. |
