AH 203: Survey of Asian Art (Spring 2008)

While looking at the image, write a one-page essay (typed, double-spaced) describing the form of this object. Aspects that you might discuss include its shape and size; the treatment of its subject (such as its relationship to the human figure); the color and other qualities of the jade and the overall visual effect produced (how do you react to it?). Consider carefully the best way to organize your observations into a coherent essay.

Please make an effort to turn in a polished piece of writing -- check your spelling and grammar, and rewrite awkward sentences. (You'll spot these most easily if you read the essay aloud.). The essay is due in class Wednesday, Feb. 6.
